Sustainable development
ANOVO signs its adhesion to the United Nations Global Compact.
ANOVO continues to develop actions that promote a business policy based on environmental awareness by joining the United Nations Global Compact.
Launched in the year 2000, the United Nations Global Compact is a UN initiative that has become the largest corporate sustainability network in the world. It is made up of more than 19,000 entities in more than 160 countries, 2,100 entities in Spain that form the most important Local Network in the world and of which ANOVO is already part.
By adhering to the Compact, we commit to align all our operations with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environment, and anti-corruption. We also commit to take action in support of the UN goals embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our involvement in this initiative is endowed with a strong commitment as a partner of the United Nations Global Compact, which translates into a high level of involvement in the functioning of the Local Network (general assembly, governing bodies, speakers at activities, success stories).
Our involvement in this initiative is endowed with a strong commitment as a partner of the United Nations Global Compact.
By taking part in the United Nations Global Compact, we work with quantifiable and time-bound goals, advancing actions related to the SDGs.
“At ANOVO, we have been working for more than 20 years to extend the life span of technological products, promoting circular economy actions and actively contributing towards achieving a more sustainable technology sector. Our adherence to the UN Global Compact as a partner has a twofold objective. On the one hand, contributing, where possible, towards the Compact’s goals and, on the other hand, the promotion and reinforcement of our Quality and Environmental Management System.” José García Martínez. CEO of ANOVO
By taking part, we at ANOVO are accelerating our contribution towards the development of sustainable business models alongside other internal actions. Thus, we apply waste hierarchy principles, which aim to reduce and manage waste throughout all our processes: prevention and minimisation through repair (the most favourable option), reuse and recycling. We also help reduce our carbon footprint by refurbishing millions of electronic devices every year.
By taking part in the United Nations Global Compact, we work with quantifiable and time-bound goals, advancing actions related to the SDGs, gender equality, the fight against climate change, human rights, and the inclusion of Global Goals in business strategies.
ANOVO considers sustainability goals a priority, as evidenced by the fact that we recently received the EcoVadis Gold medal, which reflects the company’s sustainability management system quality at the time of the assessment.
Metrics containing self-reported quantitative data on carbon and sustainability performance, such as energy consumption, GHG emissions, or waste production.
A great achievement that proves ANOVO’s commitment towards sustainability, focused on four main pillars: environment, labour practices and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Sustainable Development Goals at ANOVO
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Innovation and technological progress are key to discovering lasting solutions to economic and environmental challenges, such as increasing energy and resource efficiency.
For ANOVO, innovation is part of our business culture. We work actively towards supporting the development of technologies, research and innovation, transforming products, facilities, services, production processes, and internal management with sustainability criteria, using disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Reducing inequalities
Reducing inequalities and making sure no one is left behind is integral to achieving our Sustainable Development Goals.
It is our aim to empower and promote social, economic, and political inclusion for everyone, regardless of their age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic or other status. Ensuring equal opportunities and reducing inequality.
Responsible production and consumption
Global consumption and production (the driving forces of the global economy) depend on the use of the natural environment and resources in a way that continues to have destructive effects on the planet.
ANOVO, whose core business is directly linked to this Goal, integrates circular economy criteria into the organisation through policies of prevention, reduction, reuse, recycling and valuation of waste, especially technological waste. We actively contribute to responsible production and consumption by extending the life span of technological products put on the market, as well as providing people with information and knowledge relevant to sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature.
Climate action
Climate change is affecting all countries on all continents. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives. Weather systems are changing, sea levels are rising, and weather patterns are becoming more extreme.
At ANOVO, we want to be part of the necessary change and are committed to decarbonising operations and supply chains. To achieve this, we are working to improve our energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint of services and processes, and increasing investment in the development of innovative and inclusive services.
